This is to clarify proper recruitment procedure. Mostly, I'd prefer people come to us. That said, asking within the EUC:NUS is probably best. Don't be too pushy. If they don't want to join, leave them alone. It's totally cool for people to hang out in that thread: that's what it's for. Otherwise, if you'd rather privately message (start a conversation, they call it now) someone, here's a good way to do it:
-Dece
p.s.- regarding background checks, there is no waiting period. When someone says they'd like to join, if you feel the need to do a background check, do it then, quickly. But really, if they're not banned from the boards, it's nothing we can't handle. If they're able and willing, we should have a spot open for them. And if they do have problems, we're here to help them learn to grow into a more mature user! So, it's all good.
Ok, I need to get this out, because someone was just recruited in a manner that is not... correct.
Here's how this whole recruiting thing works:
1- Find a person to recruit
2- pm them. this pm will include the following info:
- what the CJ is
- where this person can find us [our EUC thread]
- an invitation [obviously]
3- they will respond [hopefully]. If they accept, you will tell them they will have to wait about a week while we do a background check on them and figure out where they will fit in. tell them they are an honorary member until they are officially accepted.
4- we will run a background check and find them a master [if necessary]
5- we will pm them with the url to our HQ and tell them to register and log in.
there ya go.
